Peter Douglas has a BS in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master's degree from Northwestern University 's J. L. Kellogg School of Management. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Florida and is a Licensed Contractor in 21 states. He is a member of the Young President's Organization, Maumee Valley Chapter and has served the organization in many leadership roles.

Peter joined The Douglas Company in Toledo, Ohio in March, 1981. Peter ran the company's Orlando, Florida Division Office for five years, returning to Toledo in 1990, and became President in 1991 and sole stockholder in 2000.
