Responsibility for all phases of the Preconstruction process lies within the realm of our Estimating team. Our Construction Estimators require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet these established criteria are necessary for a successful job. The work requires specialized technical problem-solving and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technology, and the demonstration of the values of integrity, quality, and caution.
The Estimating Coordinator position requires a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Create and develop quantity take-offs
- Seek competitive pricing from subcontractors and materials providers
- Determine pricing for both internal and rough estimates based on subcontractor input
- Assemble bids and create rough and firm estimates based on project deliverables
- Conduct and prepare job site assessments
- Expertise-based problem solving
- Obtain required permitting and documentation
- Presentation of estimates to clients
- Turn over the job to the construction operations team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Construction Management/Civil Engineering/Construction Engineering Technology)
- 0 to 3 years of experience estimating in the construction management industry
- Understanding of construction materials and processes
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Roctek software preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Produces budget and firm estimates per corporate goals
- Capable of establishing budget estimates within TDC guideline
- Assist in proposal presentations to clients with Business Development
- Ability to provide value engineering to meet the client’s needs while proficiently using the budget tracker
- Solicit and obtain 4-5 subcontractor bids for all major trades
- Prepares bid books with complete bid tabs and detailed scopes for all trades
- Thoroughly reviews all bids for complete scopes of work, identifies the scope
- Achieve effective and timely turnover of projects to Operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree (Construction Management/Civil Engineering/Construction Engineering Technology) 3+ years of experience estimating in the construction management industry
- Understanding of construction materials and processes
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Roctek software preferred

The Lead Estimator is responsible for the individual production of estimates as well as supervising Estimating Coordinators and Project Estimators in the process of coordinating and executing estimating and preconstruction activities in a quality, cost conscious, timely, and client friendly manner. These activities will be performed consistent with the yearly goals established by the Company for the department, and in accordance with Company processes. The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring rapid shifts in priorities. This is primarily a task-focused job, requiring a somewhat authoritative, directive leadership style that encourages results driven, task-oriented collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide project leadership to achieve established goals
- Manages estimating associates to meet departmental goals through on-going performance feedback and coaching
- Maintains ability to support Business Development needs by being available when necessary for meetings and presentations
- On-time commitments for all preconstruction activities
- Ensures timely turnover of proposals to operations to allow effective purchasing and efficiency of construction
- Development of staff through performance management, training, coaching and mentoring

QUALIFICATIONS
A completed Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is strongly preferred. Candidates with a different degree major, combined with the required experience, will also be considered.
- 8+ years of experience as a Lead Estimator in the Construction Industry, managing the entire project scope from pre-construction to close out
- Senior Living, Assisted Living, Multi-family, or Single-Family project experience is strongly preferred

It will be their objective to develop the company’s preconstruction services, and estimating abilities to provide for company and client services growth. These activities will be performed consistent with the yearly goals established by the company for the department. The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring rapid shifts in priorities. This is primarily a task-focused job, requiring a somewhat authoritative, directive leadership style that encourages results driven, task-oriented collaboration.

- Senior Living, Assisted Living, Multi-family, or Single-Family project experience is strongly preferred
