One of my favorite books is Stormy Weather by Carl Hiassin (check spelling). But that doesn’t mean stormy weather is one of my favorite things.
The recent storms that hit Florida were devastating in so many ways for so many people, but what I found most remarkable was that catastrophes like this absolutely bring out the best in people. The assistance that was given to others in need was no less than stunning and shows the genuine care people have for each other. And the efforts the professionals at the Douglas Company showed for their projects, even at risk to their personal safety, was something I am in awe of and grateful for. We, and thus our clients, came through this crisis relatively unscathed, and it is all due to the dedication of our people. They set an example that is exemplary to all. Thank you for all you did and all you do. I know I speak for all of us at the Company and our clients and let’s pray for no more stormy weather like that.
