The Douglas Company Team Spreads Some Holiday Cheer

The Douglas Company team volunteered at Family House over the holidays to bring a little holiday cheer. The day started off doing a holiday craft with the children to give their parents for Christmas, followed by a nacho bar for approximately 65 residents and a fun-filled movie party, including popcorn, candy bags, and hot cocoa to wrap up our day.

Family House is a homeless shelter that focuses on keeping families together during their time of need. The goal of Family House is to help families in their time of crisis find permanent housing, help them regain control over their lives, and reclaim their independence through education, community resources, and compassion.  Family Houses serves more than 700 families annually in Northwest Ohio.

“Volunteering at Family House was a very humbling experience.  It makes you stop and realize to appreciate the things we sometimes take for granted. You never know when a random act of kindness could change a person’s life.” said Alex Koch, Project Coordinator of The Douglas Company.
