Introducing Azalea of Marion County – Ocala’s Next Skilled Nursing Facility
The Douglas Company is proud to partner with Citadel Care Centers and Architectural Concepts Inc. on the Azalea of Marion County Skilled Nursing Facility, a new one-story, 141-bed skilled nursing facility in Ocala, Florida. With a total contract value of approximately $38.8 million, this project marks our first project with Citadel Care Centers and continues our longstanding experience working alongside ACI on healthcare construction projects.
The 103,714-square-foot facility will consist of 97 units with a total of 141 beds and include spaces designed to support resident care, rehabilitation, and daily activities. These spaces will include courtyards, a therapy gym, kitchen, activity and lounge rooms, and a dedicated therapy courtyard. As a large, single-story skilled nursing facility, the project will also fall under review by Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), requiring additional healthcare-specific design, inspection, documentation, and approval processes throughout construction.
