This year has certainly been full of new challenges for all of us. In April, the Government approved a complicated program referred to as the Payroll Protection Program, or PPP for short. It was an important program that most everyone has probably heard about at this point. What may not be as well-known is shortly after its announcement and nearly every week, throughout the summer and fall, the rules and regulations of the PPP changed and evolved. The required calculations were complicated and complex. At the earliest possible date in early November, Dave Kelbley, filed the necessary support with our bank, Key Bank, in order to finalize the PPP. Dave’s supporting documentation went through both Key Bank’s and the Small Business Administration’s review process quickly and without additional information or question. It is with this, Dave Kelbley earns this month’s core value for keeping our commitments through proactive attention to detail and execution.

I would like to nominate Bob Ritter for the Core Value Award of “Growth of our associates and business through learning, teamwork, and leadership”. Bob has gone beyond what I could have expected of him to help me navigate the transition into my new position. Commence is a particularly finicky software that isn’t always intuitive. Each time I’ve encountered a roadblock or was unable to retrieve the data needed, Bob would, without hesitation, take time out of his schedule right away so we could figure it out together. (aka – He explained, and waited on me to catch up.) He has helped me learn by creating an environment of teamwork and exemplifying leadership.

I would like to recommend Scott Lynch for a Core Values nomination of Keeping our commitments through proactive attention to detail and execution. Scott is working on the Airy Hills project in Cincinnati and has continued to crush roadblocks that come his way. The month of September was a great month for the Airy Hills project. Site logistics created a small window for the push to get paving completed before the end of the season. The project team put together a plan to complete the exterior of the building while working to get additional retaining walls and remaining utilities installed simultaneously. Mr. Lynch executed the plan to perfection and completed our first proof roll yesterday. Scott also will receive the last of his rough inspections this week and we plan to be out of the drywall business by the end of the month. Keep pounding Scott, well done!
