The Senior Living Tour is Coming to the Assisted Living Community Near You!

A trend we see repeating itself in many new Assisted Living Communities is the inclusion of multiple forms of recreational activities for the residents.  One such activity, Golfing is finding its way into many of the new facilities being built throughout the country.  Assisted Living Community operators are including the provisions for Putting Greens somewhere on their campus for residents to use on a daily basis.

Why provide this for residents?  While not an extremely aerobic form of exercise, participation in this part of the activity of golf provides a resident with an activity to take them outdoors, it requires them to be active and perform movements and tasks not found in their daily activities and it provides for social activities with others using the green which gets resident’s out and eliminates the feelings of confinement that can occur in a Senior Community.

While not an inexpensive feature to construct, a putting green of moderate size can be built for $15-18,000 in most areas utilizing synthetic turf.   This type of construction makes the feature virtually maintenance free and provides for countless hours of activity and exercise for the residents of a Senior Facility.    The cost, when factored into a life expectancy of 10 to 15 years for the turf, is a small price to consider when weighed against the benefits it will provide to the many residents who will use it.

Reduce your handicap to filling up your facility by entering the Senior Living Tour and install a putting green in your next Senior Living Community.
